I have a Master of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Alberta, and I am registered with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA), the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists (CASLPA), and the Alberta Speech and Language Association of Private Practitioners (ASAPP).
I provide assessment and treatment to children and adults with communication challenges in the greater Edmonton area. Special interest in speech sound delays/disorders (including Childhood Apraxia of Speech) and stuttering. Since 1990 I have had the pleasure of helping school aged children with speech sound disorders and language challenges. A boutique clinic was opened in 2006 after receiving specialized training in oral myofunctional disorders. This area addresses oral habits such as thumb sucking, open mouth posture, and tongue thrust swallowing. Laura has dedicated her career to working with children and families in an intervention context for the past 20 years, with over 10 years of experience as an SLP. Her passion lies in supporting connections between children, their loved ones, and the world around them. Service is currently being offered in the areas of pediatric speech, language, and feeding/swallowing.
I am a Speech Language Pathologist and owner of It’s a Speech Thing Inc. Assessment and intervention available for children of all ages and abilities. We provide services through a play-based approach to keep children engaged and motivated to learn new skills! We focus on learning through play and literacy to support children in finding their voice. Our practice also offers services for adults. Services are provided in client’s homes or online.
Assessment, Treatment and Family Consultation for pre-school and school-aged children who have difficulty: – saying speech sounds (e.g., articulation delay, phonological processing disorder, childhood apraxia of speech) – understanding language (e.g., following directions) – using language (e.g., vocabulary, grammar) – socializing Foreign Accent Modification assessment and intervention for adults.
I have been a leader in stuttering therapy in Western Canada for over 15 years. I also enjoy working with clients on effective communication skills (small talk, presentations, or job interviews) and increasing clarity and flow of speech for clients with speech sound delays or those interested in accent modification. Sarah has 10+ years of experience working with preschool and school-aged children in community schools, private schools, and their homes. Sarah targets SLP goals through play based learning. She believes that SLP visits should be fun and memorable for each and every one of her clients. She is currently offering in-person and online sessions. Sarah is also a mom of 2 little ones. In her free time, she loves to go out for walks, listen to music & spend time with her family.
I am a registered SLP with over 25 years of experience helping parents and their children develop their communication skills. Making learning fun, reducing frustration and building trust are the foundations of my practice. I offer assessment, treatment and family consultations for preschool and school-aged children experiencing difficulties with articulation, phonology, childhood apraxia of speech, receptive and expressive language, hearing impairment and fluency. I’m an energetic and friendly Speech Language Pathologist practicing in the Edmonton area. My approach is play-based and family-focused. I enjoy providing therapy to children ages 0-12 with a variety of communication needs. I have a special interest in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). I have a broad range of experience coaching families to become the best communication partners to their children. Our team offers in-clinic appointments, online therapy sessions and home visits!
