Description: Renfrew Educational Services is a not-for-profit, registered charity operating as an independent school. We are an acknowledged leader in program development for children with special needs and children who are typically developing. For 44 years Renfrew has offered a wide range of programs and services to children from Calgary and surrounding areas. Positions may be in the following programs: • In our Community Services department: provide assessment, intervention and consultation for children with language delays, phonological disorders, developmental dyspraxia, articulation difficulties and social communication difficulties. • In our Specialized Autism Services program: provide strategies and suggestions to caregivers/parents, teachers, physicians and other individuals on how to meet the client’s needs, develop behaviour support plans and social stories, and support staff and/or caregivers/parents on the implementation, work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to plan and carry out programs, enable and support learning for the child and family members in the school, home and community. • In our inhouse programs: working in collaboration with the team (may include Teacher, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Speech Language Pathologist, Physiotherapist, Child Development Facilitator, Family Support Worker, Family, Manager) to develop strategies, coach and support team members and parents in daily classroom plans. Collaborates with teacher to develop, implement and evaluate Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals.

Description: The Aboriginal Head Start program is an Early Intervention Preschool program working specifically with First Nation, Inuit, and Metis Preschoolers in their first educational setting. Students are Aboriginal children ages 3 1/2 to 5 years who are identified as having a special or challenging need to function regularly in a classroom setting. The children are supported by a dynamic multidisciplinary team consisting of a classroom teacher, educational assistants, Family Support Workers, Program Management, Home Educator, IPP Coordinator, and Therapists (SLP, OT, CASA, and Alberta Health Services). Aboriginal Head Start is seeking an experienced part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (15 hours per week) to work collaboratively with designated Head Start teams and other contracted therapists in the program to provide assessment, consultations, and intervention for our two classroom site locations in the city of Edmonton.
